What SniffyNest is. SniffyNest is a marketplace platform that connects pet parents with independent pet hosts who offer home-based pet stays. Hosts are independent users of the platform and are not employees, agents, or partners of SniffyNest. SniffyNest is a facilitator only.

Who can use SniffyNest. You must be 18 years or older and legally capable of entering into a binding contract in India to register as a pet parent or host.

Your responsibilities. By using SniffyNest, you agree to:

• Provide accurate personal, pet, and property information
• Upload valid pet vaccination records before booking
• Respect the booking, cancellation, and refund policies
• Communicate honestly and treat other users respectfully
• Avoid fraudulent, abusive, unsafe, or off-platform conduct
• Use the platform responsibly and in line with Indian law

Host-specific responsibilities. In addition to the above, hosts agree to complete KYC verification, provide accurate bank details for payouts, disclose material facts about their home (pets already in the home, kids in the home, space limitations), and comply with any local regulations that apply to hosting animals in a residential space.

Payments and commission. Bookings are paid by pet parents at the time of booking through our payment provider, Razorpay. SniffyNest charges a 15% platform fee on the guest side. Hosts receive the remaining amount as their payout, subject to the payout schedule below.

Host payouts. Payouts are processed weekly, every Monday, for stays completed in the previous week. Payouts are sent directly to the bank account the host registered during KYC. Bank settlement timelines may vary depending on the receiving bank.

Taxes. Hosts are independent contractors and are solely responsible for reporting and paying any income tax, GST, or other applicable taxes on their earnings from SniffyNest. SniffyNest does not withhold or advise on host taxes.

Account suspension. SniffyNest may suspend or terminate accounts involved in fraud, repeated cancellations, fake reviews, abuse, unsafe conduct, misuse of the platform, or violation of these terms.

Not our responsibility. SniffyNest is a marketplace facilitator. We are not responsible for pet injuries, illness, property damage, medical complications, personal disputes, or transactions conducted off the platform. Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Pune, Maharashtra. Before initiating any legal proceedings, users must first contact SniffyNest support in writing within 30 days of the incident and give us a reasonable opportunity to resolve the matter.

Continued use. Continued use of the platform indicates acceptance of these terms and any updates published on this page.

We take your privacy seriously. This section explains what we collect, why, and how long we keep it.

What we collect from pet parents

• Name, phone number, email address
• Pet details (name, breed, age, vaccination records, behavior notes, emergency contact)
• Booking history and communications on the platform
• Payment information (processed and stored by Razorpay, not by us)
• Device and usage data required to run the platform

What we collect from hosts

Hosts share more information because we verify identity and send payouts. We collect:

• Legal name, phone number, email address, residential address
• Government-issued photo identification (such as Aadhaar, PAN, passport, or driving licence)
• Bank account number and IFSC code, for payouts
• Photos of the host's home and living spaces, for listing and verification purposes
• Details about the host's home, family, and any resident pets
• Booking history, host communications, and reviews

Why we collect it

• To verify identity and build trust on the platform (KYC)
• To manage bookings, payments, and payouts
• To send booking confirmations, reminders, and support messages
• To prevent fraud and enforce our terms
• To meet legal, tax, and regulatory obligations in India
• To improve the platform

Photos and marketing use

By uploading photos to your listing, you grant SniffyNest a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display those photos on the SniffyNest platform and to use them for promotional and marketing purposes across our website, social media channels, and paid advertising.

What this means in plain language: the photos you upload of your home may be used on SniffyNest's Instagram, in Meta/Google ads, on the SniffyNest website, and in promotional materials.

What we ask you to do: please upload only photos that are safe to share publicly. Do not upload:

• Photos showing your full home address, house number board, or clearly identifiable exterior of the building
• Photos of other people (family members, neighbours, children) without their consent
• Photos of documents, ID cards, keys, or anything sensitive
• Photos of valuables or security-relevant details

You can request removal of any of your photos from marketing use at any time by writing to [email protected].

Sensitive information

Government IDs, bank details, and any documents uploaded during KYC are stored securely with restricted internal access and are never shared with pet parents or other hosts. Pet parents will only see the host's first name, profile photo (chosen by the host), listing photos, and reviews — not the KYC data.

Data retention

• Active account data is kept while your account is active
• KYC documents are retained for up to 5 years after account closure to comply with financial and regulatory obligations
• Booking, payment, and tax records are retained for up to 8 years as required under Indian law
• Marketing communications data is deleted within 30 days of unsubscribe
• Other personal data is deleted within 90 days of account closure, unless retention is required by law

Sharing

SniffyNest does not sell your data. We share limited information only with:

• Our payment provider (Razorpay), to process payments and payouts
• Our KYC and verification service providers, to verify your identity
• Law enforcement or regulators, when legally required
• Between host and pet parent, only after a booking is confirmed and only the details needed for the stay (host's first name, phone number, and address on the day of check-in)

Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, you have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and personal data (subject to legal retention obligations above)
• Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time
